About Me

I create my art with cloth.  I hand dye my cloth using traditional dyeing techniques as well as through a process of sublimation.  I weave cloth as well as create cloth from thread.
As a child,  brought up in a traditional Latin and old English environment, I was expected to learn all needle crafts.  I learned to sew, knit, embroider and crochet.  Today, when I look at the work I did as a child I'm amazed at the high quality of the work done by someone so young.  I now realize I always loved working with needle and thread in all it's different forms.  I see now that although I never consciously sought these activities later in life, I always had some needle craft project on hand.  It is part of who I am.
For my 10th wedding anniversary, my husband gave me a sewing machine.  Finally, I had a reliable and easy to operate machine.  My life changed!  I became passionate about the fiber arts.  So much has happened in the intervening 10 years!  I went back to college and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a concentration in Textiles.  I create art with fiber as well as wearable art.  I voraciously devour all knowledge about fibers, both the technical aspects as well as knowledge about world textiles.  My work is exhibited in galleries and juried shows.  I share my love for everything fiber, from creating cloth, to dyeing and all aspects of textiles with children and adults alike.

I enjoy making all my wearable art pieces.  It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to create these items.  I hope you enjoy them too!
